Diabetes is one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality in the United States. While the disease transcends all racial and ethnic boundaries, it has a high prevalence among minority populations, especially African Americans. Research has demonstrated that diabetes can be prevented through education, exercise, and good nutrition habits.
The Stepping for Diabetes Walk is an event which includes a two (2) mile walk at MacFarlane Park. Refreshments will be provided. For those that wish to participate in our Diabetes awareness fundraiser at home, a 15 minute Walk at Home Exercise video can be viewed here: https://youtu.be/tW9IY48x1bc
Registration will be available on-site. All charitable donations will be accepted and greatly appreciated. The proceeds will go towards finding a cure for diabetes. Make all checks payable to Harram Temple No.23, Inc. Please mail to P.O. Box 5315, Tampa FL 33675.
