The Watts Sanderson Jr. Memorial Educational Grant


The Watts Sanderson, Jr. Memorial Educational Grant Program supports outstanding high school students in pursuing further education. Harram Temple No. 23, Prince Hall Shriners, is pleased to award five (5) $1,000 educational grants to selected seniors to help them pursue college, university, or vocational/technical training.

The Watts Sanderson, Jr. Memorial Educational Grant program recognizes students for their exceptional scholastic achievement and community involvement. Educational grants are awarded based on academic achievement, awards, honors, leadership, involvement in school activities, community/volunteer activities, and financial need. Educational grants are awarded without regard to race, creed, color, religion, gender, or national origin.

Application Process:

Interested applicants must complete and submit a Harram Temple No. 23. Prince Hall Shriners Watts Sanderson, Jr. Educational Grant Application, along with a current official high school transcript, two letters of recommendation, and the required essay. No applications will be considered if submitted digitally after the stated deadline of May 3, 2026. No Exceptions!

Applicants are responsible for submitting all required documents and accurate information. Applications are evaluated on the information submitted to Harram Temple No. 23. Prince Hall Shriners Education/Student Aid Programs Committee. Only the Harram Temple No. 23. Prince Hall Shriners Education/Student Aid Programs Committee will review and evaluate the applicant’s information received. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
